State of Emergency offers advice and consultancy to artists, to assist in their individual and company development. It also offers advice to companies and organisations who wish to focus on ways to develop a culturally diverse dance programme. Previous clients include Arts Council England East and Dance South West. State of Emergency also delivers seminars and workshops on a variety of topics relating to the development, marketing and programming of black dance work. Seminars have included ‘In Conversation with Germaine Greer’ at Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal; ‘Developing Audiences for Black Dance Work’ at the National Rural Touring annual conference, Decibel Festival South West and at “Country Dancing?” hosted by Dance South West.

State of Emergency also delivers talks and workshops on a variety of topics relating to the development, marketing and profiling of black dance work. Examples include International Women's Festival at Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal in conversation with Germaine Greer, at the National Rural Touring Annual Conference, at Arts Council regional Decibel festival in the South West about developing audiences for black dance work, at Dance South West Festival 'Country Dancing' about developing a culturally diverse rural touring dance product and at the Peepul Centre, Leicester for their 'Let's Talk' season on 'African Caribbean Dance Today'.
