Irven's wide appeal is rooted in his ability to bridge gaps and fuse urban dance styles with classical forms in a non-threatening and enjoyable way. Irven's early training in the unorthodox setting of clubs in Leeds gave him the opportunity to watch and experiment with improvisational urban dance.
